So, I went shopping yesterday.  For Beads.  Now, understand, please, that I'd put myself on a moratorium for bead-buying.  I promised myself that I wasn't going to buy any more beads until after my shows were over, which would be December.  But, really, there's a really good reason.  (And doesn't that sound like an addict, eh?  LOL)

Lorelei Eurto has issued a Reader Challenge, and I'm going to try to take and run with it!  She and a friend had gone to Michael's together, bought some beads and challenged each other to create a necklace using the same beads.  Both necklaces came out beautiful!  She then decided she'd open the challenge up to all of the readers of her blog.  The rules are simple - go to Michael's and buy the same beads she did.  We are then to make up a necklace using those beads (we can use either all or some of these beads, and add one or two types of beads).  We can use a focal of our choosing, and we also have our choice of a clasp.  Any techniques and any design can be used.  We are to blog about our creations on Sunday, October 17th.

I'm going to be attempting to do this challenge!  It's going to be part because I know I'll be in awesome company.  And because this is going to be challenging for me too - I've never worked in this manner before :)  So who knows what I'll be coming out with!  I just know it's going to be a good experience, forcing me out of my comfort zone.

So yesterday afternoon, on my lunch hour, I ran down to Michaels and picked up the needed beads!  Hoh, boy, could I have spent more money there than I did!!  Self-restraint is a good thing, isn't it?  Anyway, here's the goods that I broke my moratorium for....
New Jade rounds, white carved cinnabar, wood tube neads, and white enameled chain.  WHITE chain, yes, that's right - I've got no idea for that!  LOL  But isn't this the point?  The green and white freshwater pearls I had at home, and since I couldn't find the brown cinnabar coins Lorelei bought, I got some really big honking bronzite rounds to use instead.  Oh, boy, the ideas are rolling, that's for sure!  LOL

Oh, and wanna check out Lorelei's website?  Or her Etsy shop?  You'll have fun, I guarantee it!  LOL

PS:  the bracelet I talked about on Monday?   Uhmmm, well, I'm glad I didn't get a picture after all.  It has since called me in a different direction and I'm now reworking it....
