Inspired By: A child's art

I'm a day late with my "Inspired By:", I know.  That seems to be the trend of my life.  Ah well, it is what it is.  Anyway, here is my inspiration for the weekend.

I have children, you know that.  They are the love and light of my life.  They came into my world and brightened it, changed it, and created chaos.  They are surely an inspiration, and a reason, for all that I do.  Today, rather than concentrating on the children themselves as the source of inspiration, however, I'd like to concentrate on one small aspect of being a child.

The artwork of a young child can tell so much about that child and how they see the world.  Give a little one paint, paper, stamps, scissors, glue, glitter, and the creations themselves are amazing.  There is no inhibition, there's no judgement, there's no "it shouldn't be".  It's fascinating to watch them work, and just incredible to see what they are working on and how it develops.  This process, this concentration, this freedom, this fierceness, is what I am looking to as an inspiration.  I hope to create something that speaks to the child lurking in all of us, and hope to develop a child's eye in working on this piece.
My DD creating her first Art Journal.
It's an old board book of hers that has been altered.

Now, the question that hits me, how exactly, will I be doing this?  Well, wait and find out!  I *will* post on Monday or Tuesday with my new piece, inspired by a child's art....I promise!

And I will also post my piece from last week, which has *finally* been finished, after a complete redo!
