My Muse has left the building... AKA Lorelei's beady challenge

So earlier on I had posted that I'd be joining the masses in creating a necklace based on Lorelei's Reader Challenge.  This challenge was to come up with a piece using beads that Lorelei chose at Michaels.  We could use those beads, add two additional strands of our choosing, a focal, a clasp and there ya go.  Sounds cool, right?  Yeah, so I thought!  LOL

During this challenge, I was fighting with my Muse big time!  She seems to have deserted me, and I don't know what to do to appease her!  For some reason, all week I haven't wanted to pull out my beads, wire, tools and metal.  No matter where I looked for inspiration, I couldn't seem to find it.  So, as a result, it wasn't until last night that I realized I didn't have anything for the challenge, due today!  Ack!  Can you say panic?  But as seems to be my usual, when under pressure I can always pull something out of my sleeves!

I decided that an asymetrical style would work, but wanted to make sure I echoed both sides.  The focal I created using the beads Lorelei suggested, and added some Vintaj wire.  I also used some Vintaj bead caps, and some way cool bronzite rounds.  The clasp is also Vintaj, a toggle clasp, and is set to the side of the necklace rather than in the back.

That white chain stymied me, though, big time - I could not figure out a way to work with it at all!  Finally, after thumbing through my newly-purchased Missficklemedia patinae'ing tutorial yet again, I decided to pull out my antiquing stuff and antiqued my white chain!  (Turns out I wasn't the only one who did something to the white chain!)  All in all, I am now happy with the white chain, and I do indeed like the necklace!  Yay!  And I can't wait for the next challenge :)  I just hope my Muse cooperates a bit more!  LOL
I do apologize for these pictures - they really don't do the necklace justice!

And now, please go check out everyone else who's playing along with Lorelei!!

What? I think your muse was just standing quietly on the sidelines, waiting for Holly to take the reins! This is a lovely piece, and so cool to know that most of the components come from Michaels!!! I love it!

Nice -- I'd say your muse pulled you through! I struggled with the white chain, too, and was frankly thinking about replacing it with something else, but I think you've given me some fresh inspiration to try a little distressing of my own. Thanks!

I love all the little details in this piece! It's really sumptuous. It's got a lot of depth and any section of it could be lovingly gazed upon for long stretches of time. Great job! The piece is wonderful!
