I've thrown my hat into the ring...

Yep, I have indeed, and to be honest, I'm a tad nervous!  ;)  I've decided that I need to push myself to be productive these days, and one of those ways will be to try to put together something on a monthly basis for the Lovemyartjewelry blog challenge.  Most of the lovelies creating for this challenge are people who I've admired, and have followed on their blogs, shops, websites and in publications for a long time, and I hope that by striving to bring my work up to their gorgeous standards I can grow my own style into something a tad more defined.  We'll see, anyway, and that is one of my goals for this year.  So, without further chat, here's the inspiration piece for the January LMAJ challenge:
Doesn't that salad look luscious?  I was, as you might expect, drawn to the greens of the parsley (I think it's parsley - my personal chef [husband] is at work today...and I'm clueless ;)), the blues of the plate and the red tomatoes.  Here is what came out of that yummy tomato salad -
My necklace includes a fold-formed copper pendant that I made a while back and couldn't figure out what to do with.  Fold forming is fun, and I really like playing with the metal, so more of these pieces might make their way into my jewelry!

Copper washers that were heat treated then hammered, and copper chain were paired with light blue faceted Czech glass and an unknown green tubular stone that I'd bought at the Brimfield Fair this summer.
The reds you see are actually sari silk that's been wound around copper links, with more copper wire wrapped around the sari silk.  I made the clasp using more copper, and the head pins you see were all made by me.  I've decided I love playing with fire...interesting, considering I'm a fireman's daughter!  ;)

And please do check out the Flickr group too!

I'll leave you with two precious pictures of my necklace being worn...

Some really original designs here. I like your style.
I'm just starting to play with metal a bit more myself.
