Bead Table Wednesday - in the middle of yet another storm

“In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow ,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago.”
~ Christina G. Rossetti

We are in the midst of yet *another* winter storm.  Ella, this one is called.  She's been a two-day blow, with snow yesterday and lots of freezing rain expected for the rest of today.   Lovely.   Erin has had 7 snow days, as of today.  Guess she's going to school longer than we expected!  ::sigh::  Ah well.  And here's what we did to prepare for this latest round of snow and nastiness.
Throw the kids outside as often as possible

Clear off our overburdened garage

Stare out the window and...

...dream of the sun and warmth and no snow...

...dream of sitting on our porch and watch the world go by.

Feed the birds.  again and again and again.  Poor things.
yes, the snow is higher than our birdfeeder

Anyway, with me being at home with the kids today, I don't really have much to show you on Bead Table Wednesday.  If I keep my beady goodness out when they're around and try to work on something, well, it becomes a disaster ;)  But I do keep a few small projects out to try to work on when they're otherwise occupied.  Today it's all about the copper!  I so love copper....

You can see some heat-treated clasps, a fused copper ring and a soldered copper ring (lower one of the two), you can also see another fold-formed pendant I did.  I've also tried wrapping some rings a'la Shannon LeVart's (the fabulous Missficklemedia) way cool tutorial, and you can see those hiding in my work towel.

Here's my bench block and hammer...need a new one!  Or ten.  Can you have too many hammers?  Me thinks not...  ;)

I've also wanted to try to make some kidney-style earwires, and so did up a prototype in anealled steel wire.  I *love* how they came out, and will now try them in copper, hoping they come out as well!  You can also see one of my heat-treated copper jump rings next to the earwires.

What's on your bead table this wonderful winter Wednesday?
