I Heart Lanterns

joining Lori for I Heart Macro again today!  Please join us, it's awesome fun!  :)

I just love the texture of punched tin lanterns.  And the look too, both lit and unlit, is amazing.  It really brings a feeling of the past to stressful, angst-ridden times!

Non-macro shot of said lantern,
which sits on my front porch.

Please join the rest of us enjoying I Heart Macro!  The shots that everyone is getting are incredible :)

(And I know I fell down on the job yesterday, my second Saturday of Studio Sounds, especially after asking everyone to play along.  This weekend is crazy busy is my only excuse ;)  Birthday parties (two of 'em!) and my 5 year old's dance recital and dress rehearsal have kept me busier than expected!   Please do stay tuned next Saturday though!  ;)

I love the close up of the lantern. At first I was thinking it was a shot of a gears in a factory and then you said it was a lantern, just amazing.

I honestly thought I was looking at a shot of gears! It's great when your eye is fooled that way! The lighting is fantastic, great close-up!

Sounds like some kind of weekend! Thank you for participating. That picture is just amazing! I love the light. For some reason it made me think of an old train - go figure. Macro does things like that, right?

Oh man my X used to do that. Punched lanterns are so wonderful! My X was a very talented horse shoer as a side line and was so talented on the forge. He had a big sheet of copper and made a beautiful punched lantern. But we moved and stored our things in my fathers barn. I think the people who used to cut his grass stole it. I always missed it! Shucks. Wonderful picture!!
