Bead Table Wednesday
Hold the Presses!

Yep, truly.  Hold the presses.  Why?
You wouldn't believe me if I told you.  So I'll *show* you!

Yes indeed, that's a *clean* bead table!  Whoa, like I said, stop the presses, right?  That is honestly never how my desk looks.   I work best in controlled chaos.  With things piling up around me, growing piles exponentially.  Those piles then threaten everything I'm working on and the rest of the household.  I have a three and a five year old.  Who are messy and wild ;)  And remember that new kitten?  Well, she's a terror, skittering here there and everywhere.  Including my desk when I'm sitting here wasting time...errr...working.  And then I have to stop goofing, you get the rescue kitten from a sliding pile of everything including the kitchen sink.  And lets also not talk about the kids' habits of piling even more things on my desk, necessitating my need to push things to the side so that I have some space to work.  So I'm sure you see my situation clearly ;)

I finally decided that not only for my own less than effective work habits, but also for the health and well-being of my kids, that I needed to completely take the office and desk down to the bare bones and give it a good cleaning and reorganize things a bit.  So, let me show you what I've done, in a brief office tour, and then we'll get down to Bead Table Wednesday!

working books
I have more, but these are the "most referred to"
and therefore kept right next to me
Lucky horse shoes in one of my prop boxes
one of these came from an old favorite horse I used to ride.
"Cecilia" my awesome dress form
she's so handy for holding things!
including stuff my daughter has done ;)
My inspiration and "keep on track - sorta" wall
with a calendar, idea board, kid artwork, pictures of the kids,
and my projects clipboard (which is under the kids pictures)
two more dress forms and my mascot
Leo Lion was one of my bath toys as a child
Area above printer
A mirror and yet more kid artwork
Erin drew this of her and her brother
And well, that's the tour of my newly cleaned office and beading/arting space!  And even though I did attack the clutter of the closet somewhat, that's in no way near being ready to be shown publicly ;)  And so, with no further chatter (yeah right...), here's what's actually *on* my bead table right now!

Labradorite and Moonstone necklace
needs a bit of a redo - wirework is fine,
but the leather needs to be heavier, and needs a different clasp

one of my painted girls
originally done for a mixed media collage, but sizing was off
now trying to figure out what to do with her!

These are some of the goodies that I got while on vacation for the past two weeks.  There's a pretty cool bead shop right in Sturbridge that I love to visit while on vacation, so of course that was my first stop ;)

In total *love* with these Czech glass beauties!
And sooo disappointed with the picture :(
Totally misses the sparkle and flash on them.  pooh

I loves me my copper!
Faceted rose quartz ovals
Again, horrible picture.
::note to self::  don't take pictures at night.
without natural light.
but then, I know better...sigh
So, well, that's it!  What's on your Bead Table this lovely Wednesday?  And have you ever undertaken a major cleanup on a whim?  Or do you tend to plan your major cleanups?  Me?  I'm not a planner.  Much to my dear husband's dismay.  Many times, dismay.  ;)  Ah well!

And don't forget to join the Bead Table Wednesday Goodness over on Flickr!

Way to go Holly! I am not a planner either and my husband has just learned to embrace the fact that he is more than likely going to come home to the same or slightly bigger mess than when he left. But if I get bitten by the cleaning bug and decide to overhaul the whole house he definitely does not mind at all!

I always feel so proud of myself when I clean up an area like that. Unfortunately, it gets dirty and cluttered again.

Your desk looks great and I love the beads and chains you purchased. Very pretty!

I love seeing the muffin tin at your work area. I haven't started using one yet, but I think this is one of Heather's genius ideas. I really need to get started with one because it's so easy to become overwhelmed. How do you like it ... is it working for you?
