Bead Table Wednesday
aka The Late Show

Well, it's Bead Table Wednesday, right?  And I'm barely going to make it in for the show, but it's all good!  What have I got going on right now?  Well, for the first time I pulled out some papers, books, bezels, gel mediums, paints and inks and resin.  I hadn't yet tried filling some bezels with resin, and decided that I had a slight bit of free time, and so then, here's what my bead table looks like:

I have to admit that I'm not so crazy about the bee one, but the butterfly bezel, which was a request from my daughter, I do indeed like.  So I'll definitely use the butterfly, but I'll try to play a bit more with the bee and see what happens.  What I do need some advice on, though, from those more in the know about resin, is how do you keep it from puddling and overlapping a bit at the edge of the bezel...

So, then, what is on your table this fabulous Bead Table Wednesday?  And please don't forget to check out the Flickr group!

They are both awesome I have been wanting to try but still don't have the courage.

I love that you are experimenting! I think resin is intimidating. I have used Magic Glos, and have purchased ICE, but haven't had the nerve to experiment first! I think the butterfly pendant is beautiful and your daughter is sure to love it!

To prevent puddling or over spilling the edges, I add only drops at a time using a wooden stick to let the resin drip in. Then check at eye level to get a better idea of how much is filled. Once your resin meets your edges, stop.

Use a level to make sure your surface is so it doesn't tip to one side.

If you do have some spillage (is that even a word, lol) an exacto knife right at the outside edge works to clean it up, as well as sanding pads.

I haven't tried this, but I wonder if a bit of oil rubbed along the edges would help spill over....
