This swap held so many draws, that I was super excited about it! I mean, come on, earrings? Talk about a wardrobe staple. And Art Beads? What can be more lovely? And swapping with another designer? I love nothing more than seeing what other designers are making, yet funds are always low so I can't purchase their work as often as I'd like, so here was the perfect opportunity! I jumped at the chance to participate and I think I probably signed up within a day or two. And then anxiously awaited finding out who my partner was...well, that was a sweet form of torture! LOL
And it turns out it shouldn't have been! My partner was the lovely and sweet Shannon Chomanczuk, of For My Sweet Daughter Jewelry. Shannon and I met online a while back (probably during another blog hop or challenge...), and I was so happy to find I'd receive some of her earrings!
I've become a bit of a Mail Man Stalker, and I waited a bit impatiently for the package to be delivered. Once it arrived, I had to restrain myself from tearing into it and just ripping it open (memories of Christmas morning as a child surface...). I'd wanted to document everything that was in the package ;) And so was not disappointed when I sllllooooowllly opened the package ;)
|Isn't this package so cute? I love the little flower on the green envelope!|
Lovely faceted chalcedony briolettes are wrapped with bronze wire. The awesome connectors are (of course!) by the one and only Kristi Bowman! I love Kristi's work! The earrings are then hung on Niobium earwires. Thank you so much Shannon! I love these earrings, and they're already in constant use! (Blue is my go-to color - I wear alot of it....and it also works so well with black...another go to color of mine.)
And now, are you ready for a shock? I *never* post pictures of myself as I'm extremely camera shy. But I thought that these earrings deserved a quick model, so here you go, me wearing the earrings! (ackkkkk) Since hubby wasn't around, and I don't let the 3 or 5 year old touch my camera, it was quite an experience trying to take a self-portrait. You should see (or not!) the discards! Ha.
Anyway, I will leave you with one more close up of the earrings. Aren't they lovely?
And don't forget to visit the other participants, including my partner Shannon to see what I sent to her!
