I Heart Macro
Putting the garden to bed

Well, it's Sunday today, and that means more Macro goodness!  Hosted so capably by the awesome Lori, of Studio Waterstone, please don't forget to visit the other Macro-fans for some really awesome photography!

Yesterday found me on the road with super-fun Patty, going to the Ridgefield Cultural Festival...enjoying some phenom scenery and having a laugh-riot of a time!

Driving to the festival - that's Patty in front of me
(betcha you didn't know about this picture, Patty!  LOL)
It was a good show, but what really made it was the fun companionship!  Come on, who doesn't love Patty(well, other than her town's BOE...heh)  I'll blog more about the show later this week...

Today is a day of recouperating, warming up and unpacking.  Which is so fun.  Yeah, really, who doesn't like unpacking??  Yes, I'm being sarcastic.  I unloaded the car, but that's about it at this point ;)  So, that means today, instead of getting new macro shots, I'm posting some from last week, when my husband and I were putting our garden to bed for the season.  Another fun job, in and of itself.  But has to be done.  I did make it funner...more fun....whatever...by finding some cool macro shots to take.

Flower on one of my husband's many pepper plants.
I've played with it, using some of the Pioneer Woman's actions.

Pepper from same plant as above flower
I think it's a Hungarian Wax pepper

One of my beloved roses

More peppers
I think this is a Thai Dragon Pepper.

Rose hips

Garden helper
We've also got a few pumpkins growing in the yard.  These are the two biggest.  The kids can't wait to get their hands on them for decorating!  I cut them off the vines earlier this week.

And, well, that's it for today!  Please don't forget to check out everyone else who participates in I Heart Macro - it's so much fun!

Fantastic macro shots, Holly! Too bad the gardens can't go year round! I'm so glad the show was a success for both of you.

Holly, that is so cool that you have a nearby friend and craft show partner! I can only imagine what a blast it would be to do a show with Patty! :-)
Your macro shots are great...but my favorite is your little helper - what a cutie.
One of these days I'd like to try growing my own pumpkins! As for me, I bought one today and it's our first Halloween decoration so far. :-)

What lovely garden shots you took. . .but what the heck does 'putting the garden to bed" mean? I'm not into gardening, though I'd LOVE to be able to do it. However, anything green I touch dies in a short amount of time. SERIOUSLY! I just got some succulents and they are already falling to pieces. Ah well, I know my weaknesses.
Your pictures are lovely!
