since I'm trying to get back into a bit more of a blogging routine, I'm going to try to do a few regular daily features. Fridays will be "Fridays In Progress". which means, you'll get to see things that are currently hanging out on my work desk.
so, to that end, here's a bit of what I've been working on this week:
this lovely brass pendant was etched with a music score and then the upside down tear drop cut out. It's also been hammered and patina'ed unmericifully!
have you ever lost one of your earrings? yep, that's what happened here. when you make what you wear, you can fix up a match pretty quickly! i lost it with an unfortunate trip on the Zoomerang at our local amusement park, Lake Compounce. (which also happens to be the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the US. with an antique carousel and antique wooden rollercoaster. I like useless knowledge. bear with me ;))
oh. yeah. won't be riding Zoomerang again anytime soon. I love coasters. love em love em love em. but can't do upside down. or backwards. this does both. I knew better. but went anyway. stupid choice. such. a. stupid. choice.
a necklace in progress. the polymer clay pendant is one of my own creations.
so, there, that's what I've been working on a bit this week. how about you?
i've also sent in a few more applications for fall/winter shows, and can't wait to hear. a bunch of them are new shows for me - I'm still hammering out good shows to attend.
you'll also notice that I've added a few badges for some of the challenges I'm going to participate in.
- Erin's awesome 2nd Annual Challenge of Travel
- Sally's intimidating yet exciting Creating with Cabochons
- Lorelei's latest Michael's Challenge (which means I have to get to Michael's this week! oops....)
are you doing any challenges or anything fun creatively? let me know, please!
